Inaugural Pink Ribbon Gala raises more than $100,000 for breast cancer awareness

More than 200 passionate supporters came together on May 6, 2015, at the inaugural Pink Ribbon Gala hosted by Susan G. Komen® Nebraska. The event, held at Scoular Ballroom in Omaha, raised more than $100,000 to support programs for education, screening, and treatment support statewide, plus national breast cancer research. Award-winning journalist, author and breast cancer survivor Cokie Roberts was the special guest speaker. Three local men — Jack Koraleski (Union Pacific), Dr Hamid Band (UNMC), and Loras Klostermann (2015 Komen Nebraska Race Co-Chair) — were honored as Pink Tie Guys for their commitment to the cause. Thanks to the many sponsors and individuals who attended, donated or otherwise supported the event to improve the future of breast cancer survivors.
