Considering the needs of the community.
In order to identify the greatest breast health needs across our service area, Komen Great Plains works with local health care professionals and community leaders to conduct comprehensive, state-wide community needs assessment every four years, called the Community Profile. This assessment, a standard practice of all Komen Affiliates, helps Komen Great Plains to better understand the state of breast cancer in our 3-state service area, and to identify gaps in breast health services. This information guides all of our mission activities including grant making, fund raising and educational outreach, and helps us address any unmet breast health needs. In addition, this information can be used by other organizations for program planning and service delivery, grant writing, and finding opportunities for expanded referrals and inter-agency collaborations.
For more information or if you have questions on the Community Profile, please contact Melissa Baron, Mission & Communication Director, Komen Great Plains at 402-502-2979.
