Important Update: Status of Breast Health Awareness License Plate
Thank you very much for your support of the initiative to raise breast health awareness through the Nebraska specialty license plate.
Unfortunately, we did not meet the 500 minimum applications required by the state for plate production to begin. Susan G. Komen® Nebraska will destroy your uncashed check, but keep your application on file, and retain your contact information for further updates. We will continue to accept applications, but will not require a check with the form.
If you’re interested in a specialty plate, fill out an application.
Linda Gill, the fantastic volunteer behind the breast health specialty plate, has spoken with state Senator Patty Pansing Brooks, District 28. Senator Pansing Brooks will sponsor the breast health specialty plate in the Legislature next session for state approval. As this process unfolds, we will keep you informed about the progress. There might be an opportunity to attend hearings or send letters of support to your state Senator for the breast health plate.
We hope you will continue to support the cause. We’re involved to raise awareness about breast health and a great “vehicle” is the mobile billboard of a license plate. Nebraska ranks 40th in the U.S. for mammography – this license plate could help improve that statistic and save lives.
