Komen Scholar Dr. Nora Disis to speak in Omaha on April 23
Komen Scholar Dr. Mary L. “Nora” Disis will speak at the second annual Art of Living with Cancer Conference on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Omaha. The event is hosted by A Time to Heal and will be held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Creighton University and UNMC graduate, Dr. Disis is a Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington, and a Member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Her work focuses on translational research, immunotherapy, and vaccine development for treatment and prevention of breast cancer.
Komen Nebraska will host an invitation-only reception with Dr. Disis on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska. She will share with us her insights on the state of breast cancer research.
