Komen Nebraska announces 2015-2016 Community Grant Recipients
Susan G. Komen® Nebraska is pleased to announce ten nonprofit organizations in Nebraska that are the recipients of community-based health grants. Overall grant funds of $577,600 will support programs that provide breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment support services statewide from now through March 2016.
“More than 1,200 people in Nebraska will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. These grants reach the most vulnerable populations in our state — rural, underinsured, or uninsured men and women — and give them access to life-saving education and services that can lead to early detection,”
said Karen Daneu, executive director, Komen Nebraska.
Grant awardees are selected by an independent grant review committee that reviews applications for impact, feasibility, capacity, collaboration and sustainability, as well as whether a program will specifically address an unmet breast health need.
